Japan Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution Support

Start with paid research and preparation. Then choose hourly marketing and sales support within an agreed scope and budget.

Team reviewing products and research to prepare a Japan go-to-market plan

What we clarify first

What are you trying to achieve in Japan, and by when?

What has already been prepared, tested, or decided?

Which documents, people, budget range, and internal approvals are available?

Which parts should be handled by a specialist, and which parts need JP Expansion Partners coordination?

Prepare first. Execute at the pace you choose.

Build a practical starting point for Japan, then test the approach with the support you need. You can commission preparation on its own, use the deliverables with your own team, or continue with separately agreed hourly execution.

Agree the preparation

Define the questions, deliverables, responsibilities and initial fee. Preparation begins after agreement and receipt of payment.

Build your GTM toolkit

Research the market and prepare priorities, commercial recommendations, Japanese sales materials and outreach tools.

Choose hourly execution

Agree the activities and budget cap. Use market feedback to continue, refine the plan or stop under the agreed terms.

Is this your situation?

A route into Japan, without building the whole team first.

You need a first route to customers

You have an established offer overseas, but need to identify Japanese buyers, suitable channels and the requirements for a credible first approach.

You need preparation and execution

A strategy document alone is not enough. You also need Japanese materials, outreach, conversations and someone to keep the next actions moving.

You want to test before expanding

You want to understand buyer interest and purchasing conditions before committing to local hiring or a larger launch.

What we prepare

Market & competitors

A concise view of relevant customers, competitors and buying requirements. Sources and open questions are recorded so the next test has a clear purpose.

Routes & priorities

A recommended route to customers, target profiles and prioritized prospect criteria. For sales-led projects, agree the candidate list and why each company fits.

Commercial conditions

Review pricing, margins, order quantities, samples, delivery and support requirements. Your team approves final prices and commercial commitments.

Positioning & FAQs

Translate features into buyer benefits, assemble evidence for the claims and prepare answers to the questions Japanese prospects need resolved.

Japanese sales materials

Prepare the agreed presentation, product overview and FAQ in Japanese, with editable source content for future updates.

Outreach toolkit

Initial messages, follow-up templates, a call guide where relevant and an activity log. Explain how your team or local specialists will use them.

Research first. Then choose the route and team.

03 / Connect, prepare & execute

Build the right team around the agreed plan.

JP Expansion Partners coordinates the brief and the appropriate specialists. After responsibilities, deliverables, fees, and timing are agreed, we prepare the necessary materials and move into execution. Results inform the next step.

Start with research and planning only if that is what you need. Specialist matching depends on fit and availability; execution is an optional, separately agreed scope.

Local support to put the plan into action

The research informs the route: sales and partners, SEO, e-commerce, advertising or a combination. We coordinate the specialists needed for the scope you approve.

Marketing direction

Set priorities, coordinate specialists and review what the test is telling us.

Sales execution

Prospect research, Japanese outreach, calls, meeting support and follow-up.

Reporting & improvement

Share time spent, buyer responses, opportunity progress and recommended next steps.

Practical sales support

What the work looks like in practice.

Build the prospect brief

Define buyer profiles, channel fit and the commercial reasons to approach each segment. Research and prioritize relevant companies.

Prepare a buyer-ready offer

Create Japanese sales explanations, product information and FAQs. Identify missing evidence, pricing, sample arrangements and support responsibilities.

Start Japanese outreach

Contact agreed prospects by suitable business email, telephone or appropriate inquiry forms. Tailor the approach and record each response.

Support sales conversations

Prepare meetings and questions, coordinate discussions and explain what the prospect needs to evaluate the offer.

Follow up on real requirements

Track requested specifications, quotations, samples and internal approvals. Coordinate answers with your overseas team and agree next actions.

Review and improve

Share activity, time and opportunity progress. Refine the target or message and recommend the next test.

Direction and sales work together. The same agreed allowance includes planning, coordination, outreach, meetings, follow-up and reporting—not sales calls alone.

Who does what?

A coordinated Japan-side team. Clear decisions on your side.

JP Expansion Partners & agreed specialists

  • Coordinate the brief, priorities and relevant local specialists.
  • Prepare the agreed research, Japanese materials and outreach tools.
  • Carry out the approved local activities and follow-up.
  • Share time spent, responses, open questions and recommendations.

Your overseas team

  • Share product information, commercial history and available evidence.
  • Approve positioning, prices, terms and claims.
  • Provide samples and technical answers where needed.
  • Approve contracts and manage supply, fulfilment and product support.
Visible work. Useful feedback.

Know what happened—and what it means for the next step.

Activity & time

What was researched, prepared or contacted, time used and the allowance remaining.

Buyer feedback

Interest, objections, requested information and the conditions needed to progress.

Opportunity & action

The current stage, the next task, who owns it and the recommendation for the next period.

Prospect → Response → Meeting → Evaluation → Agreement / Order → Payment

These are distinct stages. A researched company is not a qualified opportunity, and a meeting is not an order.

We agree reporting and review checkpoints before execution. Continue promising conversations, refine the approach or pause under the agreed terms. The market response cannot be guaranteed.

From consultation to market feedback

Start with a clear brief. Expand only when the next step makes sense.

01

Share your situation

Explain your offer, existing traction, what is ready for Japan and the business question you need to answer.

02

Agree and fund preparation

Confirm outputs, responsibilities and the initial preparation fee. Work starts after agreement and receipt of payment.

03

Prepare and review

Research the market and prepare the agreed materials. Confirm that the offer is ready for the intended buyers.

04

Choose execution support

Use your own team or agree local hourly support. Set the activity priorities and total team-hour budget cap.

05

Run the market test

Carry out the agreed activities, respond to buyer questions and keep progress and time visible.

06

Decide what comes next

Review evidence and outstanding requirements. Continue, change priorities or stop under the agreed notice terms.

How the engagement works

An initial preparation fee.
Then hourly support, if you need it.

Preparation and execution are separate scopes. Tell us your goals and the support you need; we agree the work, hourly terms and budget cap before starting. Direction, sales, coordination and reporting all count toward total team hours. Additional hours require approval.

Fees, specialist costs and any performance-based arrangement are discussed for your project. No universal package or rate is published here.

Questions before starting

Can we start with preparation only?

Yes. Receive the agreed research, recommendations and materials first. Your team can execute, or you can request a separate hourly support scope.

What is included in hourly support?

The agreed marketing direction, research, outreach, meetings, follow-up, coordination and reporting. Scope, team responsibilities and the total-hour cap are confirmed in your proposal. Advertising spend, production and specialist expenses are separately agreed where relevant.

How do we decide whether to continue?

Review activities, buyer feedback and opportunity progress together. The review schedule and notice terms are confirmed in your proposal before execution starts.

Do you guarantee customers or orders?

No. We commit to the agreed work and reporting. Buyer decisions and sales outcomes remain uncertain; the market test helps inform your next investment decision.

Can you create materials if we do not have a Japanese deck?

Yes, within the agreed preparation scope. We can turn your approved information into Japanese sales content, a presentation and FAQs. You provide and approve product facts and claims. Website implementation and additional production are separately scoped.

Can we use existing prospects or a potential distributor?

Yes. Share current conversations and commitments. The work can focus on fit, meeting preparation, open questions and follow-up rather than starting the search again.

Do we have to commit to a fixed number of hours?

We agree the support you need and a budget cap. Hours are not a universal package; actual time and any additional work follow the agreed terms. Additional hours need approval.

Are advertising, website production and specialist costs included?

These are included only where explicitly agreed. Media spend, production, samples, travel and external specialist fees are identified separately in the proposal. No full launch is implied by the initial preparation fee.
